Our focus is around career and technical education (CTE) and related student organizations, work-based learning, non-profit governance, and workforce development partnerships.Â

About the CEO

Melissa is a seasoned educator with over 25 years of experience in career and technical education. In her most recent work, she provided project management support to association managers of career and technical student organizations (CTSOs) and consultation on best practices in work-based learning.

Melissa retired (2020) as Assistant Director at the Nevada Department of Education, Office of Career Readiness, Adult Learning and Education Options, where she coordinated the state’s career pathway initiative, collaborating regularly with multiple state agencies, served as a lead developer of Nevada’s Perkins State Plan, and was one of the founders of the states K12 computer science initiative. Her job responsibilities included grants management, business and marketing education, information and media technologies programs, and work-based learning.
Leaderships skills have been honed through service on local, state, and national boards including Nevada DECA, MBA Research and Curriculum Center and the National Association of Supervisors of Business Education (NASBE). She was selected for and earned the Certified Public Manager (CPM) credential.
